Senior Accountant

We're looking for a values-aligned accountant to help us manage Steward's growing operations. This is a remarkable opportunity to amplify your own impact and join the tight-knit Steward team as our Senior Accountant.
The Senior Accountant will support the Company's accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting and assisting with thoughtful financial analysis that will inform leadership's decision-making. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the day-to-day bookkeeping of Steward’s operating company, its subsidiary entities, as well as all lending transactions that occur on our platform. Meticulous attention to detail and a driven, self-starter work ethic are essential. The Senior Accountant will work closely with Steward's SVP of Operations.

Perform daily bank reconciliations for Steward's parent company and all subsidiary entities
Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable
Manage company payroll and related compliance reporting
Assist with monthly and quarterly close processes, including intercompany account reconciliations and a consolidation at our parent company level
Assist with monthly and quarterly internal and external financial reporting requirements
Assist with the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and general best practices
Assist with year-end compliance reporting
Support coordination with external financial and tax advisors
Perform other operational duties
3-5 years of experience in corporate accounting
Professional qualification (CPA) is preferred
Ability to interpret and apply US generally accepted accounting principles
Ability to organize and manage financial records for US parent company and multiple subsidiaries (including foreign)
Experience working with Xero, Steward's accounting software, or willingness to learn
Familiarity with fintech sector is preferred, but not required
Familiarity with commercial lending is preferred, but not required
Hyper-organized and rigorous attention to detail
Highly effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work well in a remote, start-up environment
Ability to work well in both a highly collaborative but also independent environment
A high degree of professional ethics and integrity

Salary: $75,000 - $90,000, depending on experience
Paid time off: Four (4) weeks per year, plus federal holidays
